30 comprehensive questions to ask a prospective nursery

By 18:19:00 , ,

CK is our first child and so the whole 'Looking for a nursery' experience was a first for both of us. I wasn't quite sure what I should look for or what I should be asking when I looked around so I read blog posts by other mums including this post by the Frenchie Mummy, I looked on mumsnet and netmums and other 'mum forums' and I also asked some of my mum friends.

Nursery questions

I came up with quite a few questions - some to directly ask the nursery and others that I asked myself when I went to have a look around. I've decided to collect them altogether and have created one comprehensive list of all the questions I think you should ask or need to know. It might be a bit over the top, but I hope it's useful. Here is my full list:

  1. Great list! I think you've covered everything. I was so very lucky that I didn't have to look far for ours. The one in our village surpassed all our expectations and is right on our doorstep but it is so important to make sure you know all the answers to these questions before you enrol. I hope you manage to find the perfect one. #twinklytuesday

  2. It's so useful to have a list to refer to for visits to check that you've really covered everything. I also think that there is that special feeling when you walk in the door - it's like buying a house, you know when it's 'the one'. I know I did anyway, I couldn't be happier with our nursery. Best of luck in your search. Thanks so much for joining us again at #SharingtheBlogLove

  4. I found it good to have some idea of what I needed to know from a preschool when we visited them for Alice. But, I also went with how I felt in the surroundings and did it feel right for Alice. I was exactly the same when doing the school visits too and we ended up putting a different school down as first choice because it just felt so right for alice. I hope you find the right one.
